Artistic director of the Neuköllner Oper Berlin since 2004. Before that, on the road in different divisions, stages and countries as dramaturge for music theater, drama and dance theater at the Staatsoper Hannover, at the Theater am Neumarkt Zurich and at the Salzburger Landestheater. At the Staatstheater Mainz, as chief dramaturge and personal assistant to the artistic director, and at the Deutsches Theater in Göttingen as chief dramaturge/deputy artistic director, he initiated and directed numerous world premieres and writers’ workshops – with Tankred Dorst, Falk Richter, Roland Schimmelpfennig, John von Düffel, Rebekka Kricheldorf, Lutz Hübner and others – and wrote plays for musical theater with world premieres in Berlin, Salzburg, Vienna, Stuttgart, Amsterdam. At the Neuköllner Oper Berlin, he has created and continues to create various adaptations, plays, occasional productions, as well as developing and directing new formats: Collaborations, author workshops (including with Feridun Zaimoglu), international co-productions and festivals of European music theater. Alongside freelance juror (Hamburg, Amsterdam, Berlin), project maker (Berlinale, HKF), guest lecturer and lecturer (Berlin, Zurich, Munich, Weimar, St. Gallen, Berlin, Madrid).
